Call for Papers: Integrative Civic Education: Applications for complex public problem-solving


This eJournal special issue will focus on projects and approaches to Student Engagement through Integrative Education. Integrative civic engagement applies principles drawn from multiple disciplines to examine, analyze, and respond to public problems. Integrated civic education teaches students to apply interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary models to civic issues.

2017 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement Meeting

This special issue emerges from the scholarship and professional practices presented at the 2017 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (CLDE) meeting held in Baltimore, Maryland from June 7-10, 2017 and organized by AASCU’s American Democracy Project, The Democracy Commitment, and NASPA. It concerns the work of higher education in advancing civic learning and democratic engagement on our campuses and in our communities.
